Namechecked - Joy Division
Confession time - I don't own Joy Division Oven Gloves by the legends that are Half Man Half Biscuit.
No this track has been taken from a great ICA over at JC's place
It strikes me that you could do a whole namecheck series from the songs penned by Nigel Blackwell although I would have to draw the line at Bono!
A further confession - I think this may be the first time that Joy Division have featured on CCM.
There has been much love out there in our small corner of the blogosphere recently for Transmission so I have opted for Love Will Tear Us Apart
More namechecking next Saturday

You could've gone with an addendum to yesterday's post and featured 'I Love You Because (You Look Like Jim Reeves)'.
ReplyDeleteNow your talking
ReplyDeleteNero fiddles while Gordon Burns
ReplyDeleteI hate Nerys Hughes.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, another fine choice. So much better than Let's Dance To Joy Division by The Wombats.
Other JD references I could find were...
Losing My Edge by LCD Sound System (but that's a list song, so it's full of refs).
Mike Kalinsky by Clem Snide.
Damaged Kids by Broadside.
And, I suppose you could also have...
Ian Curtis by Thursday.
I'm sure we'll get through all the HNHB namechecks between us, CC! Top choice, by the way. Makes me want to seek out and visit a post-punk postcard fair
