I feel that I am coming on all over Ernie Goggins this morning as I proudly present The Sound of Senegal.
From 2000 on the Nascente label it includes household names such as Youssou N'Dour and Baaba Maal. and it captures the sights and sounds of a night out in Dakar, one of the great musical capitals of the world, where throbbing mbalax rhythms continuously pump through the heart of the city.
I'm still working my way through my Kingussie purchases. Not sure there is ever much in the way of throbbing mbalax there of an evening, except maybe when they are hosting their near neighbours and arch rivals Newtonmore at shinty
