The Blues Collection - J.B.Lenoir
The last of the latest three additions to the Blues Collection which Mrs CC picked up on her travels a couple of months ago is Eisenhower Blues by J.B.Lenoir a guitarist and songwriter active on the Chicago scene in the 50's and 60's
The title track which was somewhat controversial at the time and which his record company made him re-record as Tax Playing Blues made an appearance on my Burnt Offerings series as did the picture of him in his snazzy zebra patterned jacket which C took rather a shine to.
Another Bluesman who died young in his case at 38. Not through the usual drink or drugs like many of his colleagues but through internal injuries following a car crash.
I imagine he could have written a good song about that.
J.B. Lenoir - Give Me One More Shot
