Some new music for you today seeing as how it is a new month.
Here are Charlie Faye & the Fayettes with a couple of tracks from A Modern Day 60s Girl Group on the Rise which is available to download on Noisetrade.
Some retro soul pop but with a modern feel.
They are from Austin, Texas and in case you are wondering the Fayettes are BettySoo and Akina Adderley
Charlie I suspect is the one in the middle
Apparently they are Jewish, Korean and African-American and are all within half an inch of 5 foot 1 inch.

Playing that first track I was thinking "Man Alive, CC, I hope there's better music this week, this is pish". Then I played the second track, and this is not bad at all!

ReplyDeleteOh my aching Bacharach!! "Carelessly" could have been sung by Dionne Warwick! So Burt! And the "Eastside" track playing with them cool Stax horns. Tres cool. Sorry. I'm thinking I like them both! These girls, if nothing else, know their music history, playing on that whole girl group homage. I'd be interested to see where else they go. This old guy likes.
