It's Soul Jim but not as we know it |
That has however changed as I recently purchased a 3 CD box set (for £1.49) which included Hard Line and two others.
This week we will feature his third album from 1993 Terence Trent D'Arby's Symphony or Damn. Being Terence it is subtitled Exploring the Tension inside the Sweetness.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was much better than I expected it to be.
Here are one particularly soulful song and one which is somewhat more psychedelic.
More TTD next Sunday
Terence Trent D'Arby - Do You Love Me Like You Say?
Terence Trent D'Arby - Penelope Please
Mad as a hatter and utterly undervalued. A sublime voice. Blimey, you got a bargain there!
ReplyDeleteDo You Love Me, it's a bit over-the-top, but very listenable.
ReplyDeletePenelope PLeas???? Penelope NO I'm afraid
ReplyDeleteHard line was his commercial success but I prefer his later album. More true soul than before. Good to see him sometimes on the blog.
ReplyDeleteyou're a brave boy. Very few folk admit to any love for TTD...far less proclaim it on Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteI'll own up to liking Do You Love Me Like You Say? and a few others by the artist, but he didn't make it easy.
ReplyDeleteTotal bonkersness interspersed with utter brilliance. £1.49? What a steal!
