The Brief Return of Some Sunday Soul
As we sat sitting over tea and coffee in a hungover state in Mono's last Saturday morning JC and Drew started handing out gifts to our distinguished visitors.
Books, Postcard Record T-Shirts and Butcher Boy singles were handed out and then Drew kindly gifted us all with a soul single from his extensive selection.
I'm sure that the others are in the same boat but I am pretty chuffed with the one I ended up with.
It's on the Kent label so you know it is going to be good.
Charlene & the Soul Serenaders on the A side and Margie Joseph on the flip.it's a close call but I slightly prefer Margie.
Cheers mate

It was a perfect start in Mono's into a fantastic day. I'm with you and prefer Margie slightly.
ReplyDeleteThe Margie Joseph on e is pure classy soul.
ReplyDeleteI got Teardrop Avenue which is fanfuckingtastic.
ReplyDeleteANother vote here for Margie Joseph
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous gesture by Drew. Both these tunes are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteRight pair of corkers.
ReplyDeleteThe more I read about your momentous Glasgow weekend, the more obvious it becomes what a genuinely lovely bunch of people you all are.
ReplyDeleteThat is the myth we are trying to portray!
DeleteDrew knows how to pick 'em!
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I like about tuning into CC's shop is that I almost never know the songs. These are two more, by two more acts I don't know, that are superb. Nice one, CC!
ReplyDeleteThe credit is all Drew's today Jonny
DeleteNice one, Drew!
DeleteYeah, Margie edges it for me too.
ReplyDeleteI am saving the 45 that Drew gave to me for a special posting. It was a fanastic gesture...
ReplyDeleteI'll vote for Margie too....
