Some More Sunday Concept Soul
The Defamation of Strickland Banks from 2010 is the second album by English soul singer and rapper Ben Drew better known as Plan B.
We turn to the font of all knowledge for a brief description of the concept (well it saves me doing it)
the album's songs tell the fictitious tale of one Strickland Banks, a sharp-suited British soul singer who finds fame with bitter-sweet love songs , only to have it slip through his fingers when sent to prison for a crime he did not commit.
So for the second day running of songs about miscarriages of justice - yesterday real, today fictional. There could well be a series in there somewhere
Not quite up there yet with What's Going On but it's only really a matter of time
Again like What's Going On it is probably best listened to in it's entirety
More soul, probably of the non-concept variety, next Sunday
Plan B - She Said
Plan B - What You Gonna Do

Oh heck yea, I like this!! I like when it seems the music follows the singer as opposed to the singer following the music. He dips in and out of the controlled backing. Soulful & sprite. I like!! Thanks!!!
