I own everything up to 1974 and nothing after. Greil Marcus nailed it when he said, 'Rarely has a singer had as full and unique a talent as Rod Stewart; rarely has anyone betrayed his talent so completely.'
ReplyDeleteGreat album, featuring the 2nd best version of "It's All Over Now" - the best being the duet by Bill Withers and Bobby Womack. And "Cut Across Shorty" is a marvel of full-tilt, dirty old rock'n roll.
ReplyDeleteQuality offerings today, well done
ReplyDeleteAccording to The Swede I owned every record until Smiler. Sadly he did the Atlantic Crossing. Great choice of Songs, CC. I think about an additional post of his great ballads Only a hobo and Jo' lament.
