My baby brother turns 50 today.
Regular readers will know that he is a huge rockabilly and psychobilly fan and some of his records have appeared on these pages.
It has even been suggested in some quarters that his music collection is much better than mine
It is entirely possible
Here are a couple of prime examples.
Happy birthday Bro.
King Kurt - Destination Zululand
The Meteors - Somebody Put Something in my Drink
One of my oldest family memories is watching my older cousin Brian - all togged up in Teddy boy jacket and winklepickers - dancing to King Kurt at his 18th birthday party. It was only him and his mate as everyone else just stared at them, wondering how we ever had anyone like him on our family.
ReplyDelete(I'm proud to say, years later, when MrsRobster and I first started going out, Brian told her he always admired me as being "the other black sheep of the family". That meant a lot to me and made me appear even cooler in MrsRobster's eyes!)
Big thanks to your baby brother. He has made this blog tolerable. I kid.
ReplyDeleteYou may Brian.Others don't!
DeleteLike the idea of hiding a Clash quote. Have you've been doing it all all along? You got to let me know.

ReplyDeleteNot intentional Jules - if only I was that clever
DeletePsychobilly Ramones covers, there's a niche market.
ReplyDeleteHalf way there
ReplyDeleteFull Blown Cherry did a rockabilly tribute which I think is still up for grabs at "getting bored for a living "
Cheers Jules - I shall share this with my Bruv
