Regards de Femme a 2002 album by Lauren Faure a totally random purchase from the Barnardos Book Shop in St Andrews
The ratioanale
- She's French
- The album cover looks vaguely interesting
- it only cost a quid
- She's no Francoise Hardy
- The album is comme ci comme ca
- It probably will not be a keeper
Lauren Faure - Une Femme Qui Pleure
Lauren Faure - Toujours Tout le Temps
Comme ci, comme ça sums up these tunes nicely. Pleasant enough, though. I would've also given it a go, based on your first three points.
ReplyDeleteI respect that you took the risk. Before the Internet we all did this a lot more. Kind of miss that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that a pound constitutes a huge risk Brian!
DeleteIt is for you!
DeleteIt's all a bit pleasantly nondescript, isn't it?

DeleteA large percentage of my 2nd hand CD buying is "Mmm, interesting cover, so what's the worst that can happen with a 2 quid purchase?" and then years later having never played it (that's almost a pre-requisite)I give it a spin and "Wow this is brilliant, shame I've never played it before" Of course that only represents 10% of my purchases, the rest are as shite as I originally suspected they would be!
