The Theme to Happy Valley

There is a new BBC drama out at the moment on Tuesdays called Happy Valley starring the great Sarah Lancashire who started her acting career as Rachel the dotty barmaid in Coronation Street
The theme tune to the series is Trouble Town by Jake Edwin Charles Kennedy better known as Jake Bug with an extra g.
Which seems a perfect excuse to give this an airing.
Now the boy wonder that is Master Bug with an extra g is a mere twenty years of age and is quite possibly the youngest person to have appeared on CCM.
He was born in 1994 when many of the readers of this were already out there trying to earn an honest crust.
His debut album from which these songs are from was released when he was 18.Scary.
I expect that the blog police may well be all over this post like a rash so catch them while you can.

  1. It will probably be a few years before Happy Valley begins to run in my part of the world, but I'm intrigued already.

    1. It is a pretty bog standard police drama I'm afraid so I wouldn't wait with baited breath!

    2. British "bog standard police dramas" are still superior (both in terms of the acting and the script-writing) to the American rubbish we're force-fed over here. (They seem to think a heavy dose of gratuitous violence is a worthy substitute for craft.)

  2. Is the Muso Room finished yet? Have you had lie in a darkened room to deal with the trauma of moving the B&Ws? I take it you're NOT doing the varnishing and painting....

B&Ws are splendid hi -fi speakers.
Mrs CC is doing the varnishing and painting and doing a grand job
Couple of additional electric sockets to go in on Friday from a real tradesman then can begin to move stuff back in and relax

  5. L is right into young Master Bug. I quite like the tunes but find his voice abit nasal and annoying which L find hilarious as I can listen to MES for hours.

  11. To quote, "It is a pretty bog standard police drama I'm afraid so I wouldn't wait with baited breath!" What were you thinking CC - it's the best thing there's been on telly for years and amazing that we had to wait until 2023 to see how it all panned out.

Lovely picture of Sarah at the top there - a good old-fashioned character actress who is now doing great things in the US too I hear. Jake's song no longer here of course - did the blog police (Sergeant Cawood) ever knock on your door?
