When Your Sparkle Evades Your Soul

Being a Social Worker is probably just about the shittiest job on the planet. A totally thankless task with shortages of staff and resources, drowning in red tape and safe in the knowledge that you will carry the can should anything go pear-shaped.
Songs in praise of Social Workers are I imagine pretty rare indeed so let's hear James Allan pay homage to Geraldine.
For good measure he also takes a pop at absent fathers.
If you like your music gritty and real look no further than Glasvegas

Glasvegas - Geraldine

  1. I loved that first album and the couple of singles previously. It's a shame that they never bettered it. James Allan came on and sang with the Raveonettes the last time I saw them.

  2. Drew nails it with that comment. I went to see them some three or four years ago at the Classic Grand in Glasgow and it just wasn't the same. But in saying that, their imitial ascendancy seemed to light the touchpaper for a lot of new and emerging bands in this part of the world.

And great words from your good self about social workers. Utterly thankless task with huge responsibilities and relatively poor reward.
