Vintage Country Vinyl - Bobbie Gentry
Today's post comes with a Government Health warning.
If you don't like your music with a bit of snap, crackle and pop please move swiftly on.
My recently acquired copy of Bobbie Gentry's 1969 album Touch 'Em With Love is in dreadful condition.
I have cleaned it up as best as I can and it is just about playable.
I've yet to decide whether it is a keeper given it's condition.
In my defence - it was 50p which went to charity, it has a fantastic cover and it's Bobbie Gentry
This series has now been put to bed again

50p well spent I reckon.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! (Fortunately I have the CD, so don't have to worry about the Rice Krispies.)
ReplyDeleteI've got a Carl Butler and Pearl in worse condition than that, and it's l here on the shelves, and gets the occasional play. As for the music. That second song is very good indeed, by the way
ReplyDeleteI prefer the first one!
DeleteI agree, 50p for the lovely Bobbie Gentry has to be well-spent (she's looking good on the cover after all). Perhaps you could convince yourself that the crackles and pops just add a certain romantic ambience?
