Seen at King Tuts - Jack Ingram

Jack Ingram

Tuesday 28th October 1997      £7.00               Ticket No  00021

Texan Americana artist Jack Ingram only very briefly popped up on my radar. In addition to seeing him at King Tuts I have his third album Livn' or Dyin' released earlier in 1997 on Rising Tide Records.I'm afraid that I can't remember whether I attended the concert on the back of the album or whether I bought the album at the concert. The former, I suspect as I have a signed postcard by him and if I bought the CD on the night I would have got him to sign it.

I have no recollection of the Beat Up Ford Gang whom I assume were his backing band but I do remember that he put on a really good show despite a pretty small crowd. My pals and I had a fairly long chat with him at the end, hence the postcard (see below)

It seems that he has gone on to enjoy a fairly successful career having released 11 studio albums, an EP, 6 live albums and 19 singles. It looks like his output has become more mainstream country (perhaps it always was) including a number one in the Billboard Country chart, releasing an album with Miranda Lambert and Jon Randell

Jack Ingram - Nothin' Wrong With That

Jack Ingram - Dim Lights, Thick Smoke (and Loud.Loud Music)

Jack Ingram - Airways Motel
