Wonderful World Beautiful People
It's summer and how better to celebrate that fact than by playing some wonderful reggae from the equally wonderful Jimmy Cliff.
I've had a Best of for a while but I wasn't about to pass up the opportunity of purchasing another one (The Messenger - The Very Best of Reggae's Original Soul Star since you ask) for 49p particularly when it yielded seven songs not on my previous compilation including these two absolute stonkers.
This is the sound of the summer
Jimmy Cliff - Wonderful World, Beautiful People
Jimmy Cliff - Sufferin' In The Land

Cheers! Jimmy Cliff - one of the true greats. 49p for seven new songs? Bargain of the week.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. He's still making some decent music too!
ReplyDeleteI would like to know what IS on that first Best Of if it doesn't have these two great tracks.
ReplyDelete'Wonderful World Beautiful People' missing from a Jimmy Cliff compilation? Wtf? (as I believe the young folks say these days)
ReplyDeleteWonderful World... was pretty much the song that got me started on reggae, along with the Clash's cover versions
ReplyDeleteSwiss Adam
He’s playing the Wickerman Festival in a couple of weeks I believe.
