Saturday Lucky Dip

A few weeks ago I featured a post on the theme of Tupelo
At the time I bemoaned the fact that I couldn't find a copy of Tupelo Honey by Van Morrison.
I have still been unable to locate it.
However on this week's featured Saturday Lucky Dip album - Uncut - March 2002 there is a version by Dusty Springfield from her 1973 album Cameo which is head and shoulders above anything that the Grumpy Irishman could come up with.
I wonder whether the Glimmer Twins had Dusty in mind when they wrote She Smiled Sweetly. Unlikely but you never know.
Here it is performed by the Bard of Barking in his own inimitable style

Dusty Springfield - Tupelo Honey

  1. Dusty could do pretty much ANYTHING head and shoulders above what anyone else could do. One of the absolute greats and I miss her.
