Andy Gill RIP

Very sad to read that Andy Gill guitarist with Gang of Four has passed away at only 64.
A band that I only have a couple of albums by but one who have a well deserved reputation as  politcally sound post punk performers. And it was also music you could shake your booty to.
That he passed away just after we exited the UK  makes his passing  all the more galling.

Rest easy Andy

  1. Live in 1979 at a tiny venue in Cardiff's Colchester Avenue concert- stupendously good concert. Never danced so much in my life. Gill seemed to play almost against the rhythm. Entertainment indeed. Very sad news.

  4. I was lucky enough to see Gang of Four a handful of times between 1979-81, they were memorable and inspirational shows. This is very sad news.

  5. I was so excited yesterday when I turned on KEXP and I Love a Man in Uniform was playing. About a minute later that bad feeling crept in when I started asking myself what would possess the DJ to play it. After all, I couldn't ever remember hearing it on the airwaves. By the end of the song, I just knew. For those of us of a certain age, we are losing our heroes so regularly now... RIP, Andy.
