Some 60's psychedelic folk for you today courtesy of
The Byrds
Taken from the
Definitive Collection - 25 tracks but only one from
Sweetheart of the Rodeo one of the top 10 albums of all time.
Something wrong there surely.
This post has given me an idea for a new series - stay tuned
The Byrds - Eight Miles High
The Byrds - Mr Spaceman
Pretty much as close to perfection as it gets?
ReplyDeleteIs the new series something to with space?
ReplyDeleteNope
DeleteGreat albums that have been unfairly overlooked?
DeletePeople who have been in more than one legendary band?
DeleteMisspelled animal bands?
ReplyDeleteNow THAT's a great idea for a series. Wasn't there a band called the Tygers of Pantang?
DeleteA lot more uninspired than all these suggestions!
ReplyDeleteGot to say I prefer this period Byrds to the Sweetheart of the Rodeo period. Space rock rocks. Spacily.
ReplyDeleteFirst time I ever heard Eight Miles High was the Roxy Music cover version on 'Flesh and Blood'. I'd always thought, without ever really listening, that The Byrds were hippies to be avoided at all costs. My musical tastes over the years have thankfully matured and expanded (in line with my body shape)
