Among My Swan
So Tonight That I Might See the 1993 album by Mazzy Star the band featuring the Santa Monica duo of Hope Sandoval and David Roback has been on the shelves for a while and surprisingly has not yet had an airing on these pages.
I'm sorry to say that you may have to wait a wee while longer as it has been usurped by it's 1996 follow up Among My Swan recently purchased on my travels in an old church in Aberfeldy which now doubles up as a Thrift Shop.
Some lovely acoustic instrumentation accompanied by ethereal echo and a band who I know are popular with many of my fellow bloggers.

Gorgeous. Another excellent find CC. Our local charity shops are crammed to the gills with various volumes of 'Now That's What I Call Music' and early Boyzone albums, so let me know if you need me to pick any of those up for you.
ReplyDeleteI'll get back to you on that Swede ...
DeleteObviously I already have most of the stuff Boyzone ever recorded
DeleteYou are rather good at raking through the dross in charity shops CC
ReplyDeleteNot always the case Drew - anyone remember the Spinto Band? Thought not
DeleteTrying to be more discerning from a space and financial point of view
not quite correct, CC: Hope is popular with me, not the band ... don't care about any of them ...
ReplyDeleteLovely. To the extent I'm known on the Vinyl Villain's site it's as a New Yorker. But that was long ago. I've been in Santa Monica since 1991 and this is the sound that was happening when I arrived here, lo these many years ago.
ReplyDeleteIt's embarrassing that I'm just now getting to the sites of other TVV contributors whose names I recognize like old friends. I've got A LOT of catching up to do!
Welcome aboard
