It is an Uncut compilation from June 2003 and to give it its full title Acid Daze - 18 Psychedelic Classics from the UK Underground. The tracklist is here and it can be picked up for buttons
Now you may think that this is not the kind of thing that I would usually plump for and you would be correct. However I was happy to take a punt for 16.66p as part of a 3 for 50p.
For what it's worth I quite like about half of the 18 tracks including the three below.
If you are surprised at me purchasing this you will be even more surprised at one of the other two!
As things stand we are now on the penultimate lap of this series.
Let's start with The Countess of Fife with Goodbye Motorbike Guy. If you think that the voice sounds familiar that it because it is none other than Fay Fife of Revillos fame.
Daniel Johnston was a cult musician and artist from Austin who achieved mythical status particularly when he was championed by Kirk Cobain. If you are interested more information can be found here Here he is with Speeding Motorcycle.
Teen Canteen, a band led by Carla J Easton, were one of the first acts to release music on the Last Night From Glasgow label in 2016. The album in question was Say It With a Kiss from which Motorbikes is track 11.
A song called Motorcycle Mama by Sailcat featured on the first instalment of this series. Here is another song with the same title by Neil Young.

"A Child's Question, August" (2023) by her PJ Harveyfulness (still just about getting over accepting a gong) and finally the much (unfairly) mocked August Darnell with his vocals on, "Annie, I'm Not Your Daddy" from an eye-watering 42 years back. Yikes.

A bit of a coincidence as I just picked up a vinyl copy of Tropical Gangsters in a charity shop a few days ago. It will feature in due course.
When Crows were first proposed as part of the I Like Birds series there was some brief discussion around musical acts with Crow as part of their name.
I've come up with six
As well as being today's post title Stone the Crows were a Glasgow blues rock band whose membership included Maggie Bell (of the Taggart theme song fame) and Les Harvey brother of the more famous Alex.
American rock band Counting Crows best known for their 1993 debut album August and Everything After are probably more well known.
The world and your granny will be familiar with Sheryl Crow who has sold more than 50 million albums world wide and who has won Grammy awards from 32 nominations.
Nashville based Americana string band Old Crow Medicine Show are perhaps slightly less famous although they have won a Grammy! Their 9th album Remedy won the Grammy Award for Best Folk Album in 2014
The Black Crowes are a rock band from Georgia who have been on the go since 1984 who have sold 30 million albums although I haven't bought any of them and apparently rank at number 92 in VH1's 100 Greatest Artist of Hard Rock. Wow - there are 100 great artists of Hard Rock? Who would have thunk it!
Finally a slightly more spurious offering namely Crowsdell an indie- pop band from Jacksonville, Florida who have graced these pages once before
This week's shuffle kicks off with a bit of Country Rock courtesy of Little Feat with Easy to Slip. It is taken from the compilation I See You Live on Love Street - Music from Laurel Canyon 1971-1975.
I suspect the Love Street reference is from the Doors song as opposed to Love Street Stadium the home of St Mirren until 2009. They are now in the SMISA Stadium one of those soulless indentikit jobs.
It's enough to make you reach for a Margarita something that Zoe Muth did on her album World of Strangers back in 2014.
I have a few versions of Like a Hurricane by Neil Young and Crazy Horse but none surpass the version on Live Rust.

Intelligent and adaptable indeed. The one's outside The Crown in Portpatrick are prone to swoop and make off with the sachets of tomato sauce, vinegar and salad cream
Apparently there are four members of the Crow family - rooks, carrion crows, ravens and jackdays. The Portpatrick ones are firmly in the second tranche.
To the music. Ernie kicks off simple with Crow by Cinder Well who it seems is at the vanguard of a different kind of transatlantic folk music revival, one forged amidst the uncertainty of a global pandemic.
He then goes for a twofer Doves & Crows by Bare Bones. There may well be more Doves later on in this series
Next up are the aptly named Birds of Chicago with the Humboldt Crows which as I'm sure you are all aware are named after the German polymath, geographer, naturalist, explorer, and proponent of Romantic philosophy and science Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Alexander von Humboldt
For the final offering I'm glad to see something from the Bloodshot stable (or should that be nest?) namely Land Where The Crow Flies Backwards by Roger Knox and the Pine Valley Cosmonauts.

Not another three-word series on the pages of Charity Chic Music? We’ll see, maybe a guest post. I would be lying if I said that I used the Ray La Montagne and The Prairie Dogs song as inspiration because, of course, it’s the runner-up song of the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest by The New Seekers. A band that sold about 35 million records. Does that make Aberdeen’s Eve Graham the biggest selling Scottish pop artiste of all time? The song: anyone older than 60 will know this song, and will be able to sing along in places, maybe even contribute a few “ba-ba bah bahs” in time with that little riff within the chorus (You know I’ll beg steal or borrow (ba-ba bah bah) to give you sunny days………..and in a hundred ways…..)
And a perfectly fine light pop song it is too. The 9 year-old me was far too cool to like it, the 61 year old me is far too cool to not like it.
And now for three songs about begging or stealing or borrowing. But not all three in one song.
The obvious begging song is of course track 3 on This Was, Jethro Tull’s first (and splendid) album. A heavy rock track with, unsurprisingly, some flourishes of flautistry:
