If you have been doing this malarkey for as long as I have you often run the risk of repeating yourself.
An example -I was listening to the band Hazy Malaze the other day and came up with the idea of a Hazy Friday post only to discover that I did one in November
On the other hand I was fairly convinced I had done one featuring the individual components of Earth, Wind and Fire but it seems not.
Let's give it a bash then. Let's kick of with Last 2 on Earth from the Americana/Indie duo Plains.
For Wind I have opted for The Golden Tree (Grahame Skinner and Bobby Bluebell) with their cover of Donovan's Catch the Wind.
There are plenty of Fire songs to choose from ( files that away for future reference) Here is a version of Light My Fire by the late great Minnie Ripperton featuring Josie Feliciano.
Finally it is only fair to acknowledge the band who inspired this post.
I may well revisit this in due course.
The Golden Tree - Catch the Wind
Thought I recognised that voice on the Plains track - Waxahatchee. Just checked my itunes library and I have 5 songs by her - all downloaded from you!! It's about time I went out and bought one of her albs for myself. Catch The Wind is such a lovely ethereal song but I'm afraid I didn't rate the version you played - - my standards are high for covers of that particular song and I'd say it would be pretty impossible to beat the Blues Project version played live at the Cafe Au Go Go in 1965 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDoSVsYHDOc
