We start this week's shuffle with what is quite possibly my favourite ever song. I reckon I could play Another Girl, Another Planet by The Only Ones everyday for the rest of my life without getting bored of it. I can't think of any other song that I could say that about.
Spinning Coin are a Glasgow band who have been on the go since 2014 without ever quite making it. This is a shame as some of their stuff is pretty good and deserves a wider audience. Here is one Raining on Hope Street the opening track from their 2017 debut album Permo on Stephen Pastel's Geographic label
We conclude with Fairport Convention from as far back as 1968 with Throwaway Street Puzzle which it seems was a bonus track on the re-issue of What We Did on Our Holidays. It is not on my CD copy of the album on the 5 Classic Albums series. My file is instead taken from Jon Savage's compilation 1968 - The Year the Earth Burned.
More scorchers next Saturday
The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet
