2026 Charity Shop Purchases #27 Will Johnson - Vultures Await
I've had a burn of Vultures Await a 2004 album by Will Johnson for a number of years courtesy of my friend Gordon. I was pleasantly surprised to see a copy of it in Oxfam and immediately took the opportunity to upgrade it.
We've seen him play on numerous occasions either as part of Centro-matic or South San Gabriel in Austin or as a solo artist.
In his solo capacity we saw him play in someone's garden in Austin and as support to My Morning Jacket at King Tuts and to Great Lake Swimmers in the Admiral Bar, both in Glasgow.
Playing this again brought back some happy memories.

Really like his voice which was one of the first things that drew me to Centro-Matic. Whilst I've got 3 or 4 albs of theirs I've nothing from him solo. Haven't listened to CM in ages so thanks for giving me a jolt to tune in to them again
