Last Sunday when I featured the Americana compilation Viva Americana I threatened to feature the whole album in its entirity over the next few weeks. I may well do that at some stage but I have decided that Sunday will now be the place to feature different Americana compilations of which I have many.
For the second post in this series it makes sense to feature New Highway - Return to Viva Americana as it was the 2001 follow up to last week's featured album.
As you can see from the tracklist there is no reduction in the quality of the fayre on offer. I'm amazed that a copy went for as little as 50p and that the median price is £2.04 - an absolute bargain.
Again the vast majority of the tracks would be worthy of posting here but I have opted for the three below (all from acts I have seen live, although Neko Case and the Sadies were on seperate occasions). On another day it may well have been different .
Another compilation from the Blue shelves next Sunday.
