Flaco Jiménez R.I.P.

 It was sad to read of the death of the legendary San Antonian accordionist Flaco  Jiménez  at the age of 86.

A member of the Texas Tornados and Los Super Seven he played with anyone and everyone.

An example was his 1992 album Partners when he played with the likes of Emmylou Harris, Ry Cooder and Linda Ronstadt among others 

The highlight was undoubtedly his version of Warren Zevon's Carmelita with Dwight Yoakam.

He helped convert many, including me, to the joys of the accordion and for that we should be grateful.

Rest easy Flaco.
