A few days ago I picked a CD at random from the Americana shelves to play. As you can see from the picture the CD in question was Weightless by a band called Jackpot which was released on the Dutch label Munich in 2001.
I bought it on the back of the track La La Land featuring on a compilation of artists on the Munich label called Awesome.
Piccadilly Records described it as laconic, indie rock but laced with an Americana alternative country feel that at times is like new roots music. Then they sound like Crazyhorse or some blues band from Chicago.
It is an age since I last played it. They featured here back in August 2014 which may well be the last time since it got an airing.
I've never heard anything else by them or about them. Discogs advises that they had a further five albums between 1996 and 2007. I'll keep an eye out from the extremely unlikely event that one of them ever turns up in a Charity Shop
