Cousins - Perfect or Otherwise

I was listening to the Wilco album Cousin the other day and it got me thinking about Cousin Songs.

The obvious one of course is from the Undertones but I was pleased to see that I had a good few others.

Bobby Womack for instance sings about his Cousin Henry whereas  Whiteout (two songs in a week!) opt for Cousin Jane.

Kirsty MacCall has an Irish Cousin with Culture not surprisingly having a Cousin Rude Boy.

Do you have a Perfect Cousin?

Wilco - Cousin

Undertones -My Perfect Cousin

  2. PJ Harvey has a superb song from her grunge phase called 'Naked Cousin'. Only ever recorded for a Peel Session and later included on a film soundtrack. But she did perform it on the BBC one time.

    1. Oh, I remember that, JC - first time I'd ever heard of or seen her - brilliant, unforgettable performance.

  3. I do have a lovely cousin whom I barely saw or knew as a child due to their complex home life circumstances, but we reconnected later and it's been great. We have a lot of attitudes and interests in common, so much so she could have been my sister. And now - well, he could have been my brother!
