Dead Man Walking

 

As part of the music to accompany the Sunday morning papers Mrs CC selected the above  CD.

The blurb on the top line reads Music from and inspired by the motion picture Dead Man Walking

From 1995 the film starred Susan Sarandon as a num who is the spiritual advise to Sean Pean who plays a convicted murderer and who is awaiting execution. 

I saw it at the pictures when it came out and if I recall it was reasonably good and moving film.

Wiki describe the CD as a soundtrack but only four featured in the actual film. The others reflect the same thems of incarceration and execution. Maybe a bit heavy for a Sunday morning  but it includes some terrific songs.

I'm going for Johnny Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Steve Earle but there are enough good songs to justify a further post in due course
