2025 Charity Shop Purchases # 51 -Dexys Midnight Runners - Searching For The Young Soul Rebels
Like any sane person I've had a vinyl copy of Searching for the Young Soul Rebels since its release in 1980. It is an album that every home should have.
I'd never seen a CD copy in a charity shop before until I saw the 20th Anniversary Enhanced Remastered Edition.
Did I need it? No
Did I take it as part of a 4 for a pound package in the Wigtown Community Shop? I certainly did!
It was tempting not to include Geno as everyone must be familiar with but it is too good to leave out.
There There My Dear was the second single from the album but I'm going for Seven Days Too Long. Tomorrow it could be something else.
Och sod it, you can have them both!

You already had it but you still had to get it - the strange but widespread phenomenon which just goes with charity shop record buying!

ReplyDeleteSomehow though, a world where you can pick this up for 25p seems wrong.
ReplyDeleteGreat album as you say but I've had incredible bad luck in getting a playable used version of the CD. Down the years I've picked this up three separate times from 2nd hand/Charity shops but each time there's been a scratch or a skip rendering it unplayable or on one occasion, a completely different disc in the case! I will persevere.
