Cruel Summer Toilet Tunes

On my latest visit to the loo at my local Shopping Centre the song blaring out was Cruel Summer by Bananarama which is maybe a wee bit ambitious for the beginning of April

I don't think that I have to tell you that it is a considerable improvement from Shotgun the previous one  by George Ezra

A slightly different format this time round in that I am including the actual song together with a couple of Cruel ones and Summer ones.

Bananarama - Cruel Summer

Nick Lowe - Cruel to be Kind

Wilco - Cruel Country

Grandaddy -Summer Here Kids

Bruce Springsteen -Girls in their Summer Clothes

  1. Oh CC, the theme behind this seris tickles me every time!
Our old record shop was in a shopping centre, it was open fronted and right opposite the loos (nice view...), so the attendant who worked there was treated to all our listening choices. Many was the time when he'd come out from the depths of the toilets and hang around just by the entrance, lured out perhaps by some Dylan or Byrds on the turntable. So much so that he earned himself the (rather cruel) nickname 'Bog Monster'.

  2. I'm really hoping you don't get arrested for suspicious loitering....

  3. Waiting for the spin-off series of toilet themed music. Suggestions to get things started: 'Flush' by Queen, 'You Are In My Cistern' by Robert Palmer and anything by Loo Reed.
