That's us a quarter of the way to Saturday Shuffle 200. The Shuffle is throwing up a few tracks that have already been included in the 372 posted so far. I'm hoping to find some time over the Festive Period to load a good few more onto the mp3 player to increase the gene pool.
In the meantime let's start with His Bobness.I first came across I Shall be Released on the cover by the Tom Robinson. When I included it in my Dylan Covered series back in December 2016 the jury decided by a margin of 5 to 4 that the cover was better than the original. Somewhat belatedly here is the original.
You will probably recognise today's cover stars Graham Parker and the Rumour.. I would argue that their first five albums are pretty much essential. You Can't Be Too Strong is from their fourth album 1979's Squeezing Out Sparks.
The Shuffle is always better when it includes something from the Bloodshot label. From the 2017 album Sidelong the only Bloodshot record I have on vinyl. her are Sarah Shook & the Disarmers with the title track
