2025 Charity Shop Purchases # 41 - Dale Watson & his Lone Stars - The Truckin' Sessions Volume 2
I saw Dale Watson play in a bar in Austin once. There can't have been more than 20 people in the bar and with the exception of me and my pal Goggs they were all watching some footage of the Gulf War on the TV. Dale eventually called it a day given that no one (apart from us) was actually listening.
This album from 2009 and on a Dutch label Me and My Americana Records and is Volume 2 of a trilogy. You know what that means, right? That's right, I'm contractually obliged to track down the other two!
What can I say? 14 songs all about trucking! It's just a pity I didn't have a copy in time for my Keep on Truckin' series from early last year. There would have certainly been more than 5 posts had that been the case!
I'm disappointed in Dale, he should have kept going for you and Goggs. David Olney played a full set for me and Mr F in similar circumstances and had a drink with us after.
