I've slightly altered the raison d'etre of this series
I had previously called it Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn which some of you will recognise as a line from Rapper's Delight by the Sugarhill Gang. However I have no songs with Holiday Inn in the title
Checking for Motel songs it seems as I have as many, if not more, than Hotel songs so it is only fair that they have equal footing.
To kick off the reinvigorated series here are a couple of suggestions from Ernie
I have a Best Western but I don't think the Sugar Hill Gang would stoop so low as to mention that chain. It is as implausible as Sir Lenny Henry promoting Premier Inns.
ReplyDeleteBig Loudon fan - that track is brutal, spare and honest - as is so much else of his career. It's off his 2nd alb which I'm still missing from my collection.
