Long suffering readers will be familiar with my by now regular moaning around the lack of material and indeed inspiration remaining for the Sunday Soul series.
So when thinking about what to post this week it was a bit of a godsend to see that among the bonus tracks on the recently posted Barton Hollow was a cover of the Michael Jackson classic Billie Jean.
Some covers faithfully mimic the original others are totally different. Not surprisingly this one falls into the latter category.

I've played both today. I'm going to go for the Mr Jackson original, it is a fantastic pop record. Maybe not one The Top Five, but still pretty damned good.
ReplyDeleteAs George said, Michael Jackson's song is a fantastic pop song but played too often to my ears. So I prefer any other version of this song and the Civil Wars did a very good job.
