It's the poorer later stuff that have made many folk harshly reassess things.<br /><br />For what it's worth, I'll also defend a fair bit of U2. The early stuff was great to hear in the live setting and after an annoying period in the 80s, I will argue long into the night that 'Achtung Baby' is a cracking record.
