I'm no expert on Edwyn. To find out more you are better consulting The Vinyl Villain or even better still get a hold of his missus' (Edwyn's not JCs) book Grace Maxwell's - Falling and Laughing - The Restoration of Edwyn Collins one of the most moving books about music and the human spirit you are ever likely to read.
The only snippet I'll contribute is that he used to babysit for my pal Mike in Ayr back in the day.
